Chinese Language

Chinese language is taught through a thematic approach that makes learning of Mandarin interesting. Integrated into various themes are activities like art and craft, singing, reading, writing and performances.

With the use of our in-house materials and Chinese readers, vocabulary is built through speaking, listening and character recognition. Children are encouraged to employ the Chinese language as a means of communication through class discussions and conversations.

Writing techniques are taught in a structured system. Beginning with the learning of basic writing strokes, children are taken through to the writing of whole characters and eventually whole sentences.

Hanyu Pinyin(汉语拼音)  is introduced at K1 and K2 levels to complement vocabulary development. At these stages, Ting Xie (听写) is included to boost language development.
